Impact is a number,
not a narrative.
We’re a registered social enterprise. That’s a legal commitment, not a marketing claim. The majority of our profit is reinvested into platform development and social impact programmes, and our impact is measured against a Theory of Change co-developed with Nesta in 2014. Published annually.
Built on a methodology, not a mood.
If our tools don’t make hiring fairer, they’ve failed.
When we launched in 2014, we worked with Nesta to design a Theory of Change for the work. The brief was straightforward: define the outcomes we’re actually trying to produce, the activities that drive them, and the metrics that prove (or disprove) it’s working. That document still sets our priorities.
The headline outcomes are unchanged since 2014: more young people in good first jobs, fewer of those jobs gated by prior advantage, and better information flowing in both directions of the labour market. Each is measured against a baseline, reported annually, and audited by an independent third party.
Where the impact actually shows up.
These are the four headline metrics in the Impact Report. They’re calculated on a consistent methodology since 2018, and disaggregated by sector, region and protected characteristic in the full report.
If you need the underlying methodology for an RFP or a social-value bid, we publish it openly. No NDA needed.
What we can evidence
Our Theory of Change was co-designed with Nesta in 2014. It defines the outcomes we are trying to produce, the activities that drive them, and the metrics that confirm whether it is working. We publish it openly.
The Talent People holds ISO 27001, ISO 9001 and Cyber Essentials Plus certification. ISO 27001 covers information security management. ISO 9001 covers the consistency of our delivery processes. Cyber Essentials Plus is independently verified against the national standard.
For procurement teams: certification documents are available on request.
Social value by design, not by declaration
The Procurement Act 2023 came into full effect in February 2025. It requires a mandatory minimum 10% social value weighting on qualifying public contracts, across schools, colleges, local authorities, NHS trusts and central government. The UK public procurement market is worth over £300 billion a year.
As a certified social enterprise, The Talent People scores by definition against the MAC themes: jobs, skills and social inclusion. We do not need to construct a social value argument for a bid. We are one.
We developed our Social Return on Investment model in partnership with GIST, the social value specialists. The model maps every activity we deliver through to measurable outcomes: NEET reduction, social mobility uplift, employer hiring cost avoided and income gain per beneficiary. Every figure is calculated against a documented methodology.
For clients in public sector procurement, we can provide a GIST-powered social value dashboard as part of your programme. For clients building their own social value case, we can help you customise the SROI calculations to your specific context and reporting requirements.
