Privacy Policy
Last updated: May 2026. If you have any questions, email [email protected].
1. Who we are
The Talent People (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a registered social enterprise operating in England and Wales. We operate the website at thetalentpeople.co.uk and the TalentHub platform at hub.thetalentpeople.co.uk.
We are the data controller for the personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at [email protected]. We are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO), registration number ZA040618.
2. What data we collect and why
Contact and enquiry forms
When you complete the contact form at /contact/ or the booking form at /book-insight-session/, we collect:
- First and last name (required)
- Email address (required)
- Phone number (optional)
- Company name (optional)
- Job title (optional)
- Your message (optional)
Legal basis: Legitimate interests — we have a legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries directed to us. We do not use enquiry data for any other purpose.
Newsletter and content subscriptions
When you subscribe to our research, articles, or webinar updates (via forms on /research/, /articles/, or /webinars/), we collect:
- Email address (required)
- Organisation name (optional)
- Whether you also want roundtable invitations (optional checkbox)
Legal basis: Consent — you actively opt in by completing and submitting the form. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing [email protected].
Roundtable registrations
Registration for specific roundtable events is handled via embedded HubSpot forms. When you complete a HubSpot form, your data is processed by HubSpot Inc. as well as by us. Please refer to HubSpot’s privacy policy for details of their processing. We use the data you submit to manage event attendance and follow up with relevant content.
Technical data
Our web server and TalentHub backend infrastructure log standard technical data when you visit the site, including IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages visited. This is used solely for security monitoring and diagnosing technical issues. It is not linked to your identity and is not used for profiling or advertising.
Legal basis: Legitimate interests — we have a legitimate interest in maintaining the security and operational integrity of our systems.
3. How we store and protect your data
Form submissions are transmitted securely over HTTPS to our TalentHub backend (hosted at hub.thetalentpeople.co.uk) and delivered to our team by email via Postmark (a service of Wildbit LLC, operating under appropriate data transfer safeguards). Postmark is used only to transmit your message; it does not store or process your data for any other purpose.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or disclosure.
4. How long we keep your data
We retain enquiry and subscription data for up to two years from the date of last contact. If you ask us to delete your data at any point we will do so promptly, subject only to any legal obligation to retain it.
5. Who we share your data with
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data. We share it only with:
- Postmark — solely to deliver your message to our team by email.
- HubSpot — when you complete a roundtable registration form embedded on our site.
- Competent authorities — if required by law or to protect our legal rights.
Both Postmark and HubSpot are US-based services. Where personal data is transferred outside the UK, we rely on appropriate safeguards (Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK–US Data Bridge, as applicable).
6. Cookies and local storage
This website does not set any tracking or advertising cookies. We store your accessibility preferences (font size, contrast, motion settings) in your browser’s localStorage under the key ttpAccessibility. This data never leaves your device. Full details are in our Cookie & Storage Policy.
7. Third-party content
Some pages on this site display images served from the Unsplash CDN (unsplash.com). Unsplash may log the request as part of normal CDN operation. We do not receive any personal data from these requests. Please refer to Unsplash’s privacy policy for details.
8. Your rights under UK GDPR
You have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Rectify inaccurate data
- Erase your data (“right to be forgotten”), subject to any legal obligation to retain it
- Restrict how we process your data
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests — we will stop unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override your interests
- Data portability — where processing is based on your consent (e.g. newsletter subscriptions), you may request your data in a structured, machine-readable format. This right does not apply to data processed on a legitimate interests basis.
- Withdraw consent at any time where consent is the legal basis, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal
To exercise any of these rights, email [email protected]. We will respond within one month.
9. Complaints
If you believe we have not handled your data lawfully, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint. We would, however, appreciate the opportunity to address your concerns directly before you contact the ICO.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the top of the page will always reflect the most recent version. We will not retroactively reduce your rights under any previously applicable version.
