Apprenticeship Recruitment
Apprenticeship recruitment done well is one of the most effective early talent pipelines available.
It also has more moving parts than any other route to hire. We handle the complexity so you capture the talent.
The challenge
Getting it right involves decisions that go well beyond finding candidates. Which apprenticeship standards apply to this role? How do you reach candidates who have not yet considered an apprenticeship as a serious option? How do you keep them engaged and informed through a process that can take months? And how do you make sure every candidate entering the process is eligible before they have invested significant time in it?
Each of these is a distinct challenge. They involve different tools, different data and different teams. When they are managed in separate systems, the joins between them are where candidates are lost and where decisions get made without the full picture.
A joined-up approach to apprenticeship recruitment connects all of it: role design and standard-matching, attraction and candidate engagement, eligibility checking, in-flight pipeline management and placement. The result is a programme that works for employers, for training providers and for the candidates going through it.
Our approach
We work with employers and training providers across the full apprenticeship recruitment process. That starts before attraction: helping to define the role, identify the right standards, and design a candidate journey that gives people a genuine picture of what the apprenticeship involves before they apply.
Pathfinder, our careers quiz, helps candidates understand which apprenticeship routes match their interests and strengths. Talent Connect manages multi-channel engagement throughout a process that can run for months. The Applicant Tracking System (Talent Portal) handles eligibility checking, workflow management and candidate communications in one place, with reporting built for board oversight.
Where assessment is part of the process, Talent Assess can evaluate motivation and learning agility from engagement data rather than CV history. Career microsites give the programme its own branded presence. Each component is available as part of a full programme or as a standalone addition to an existing process.
Outcomes
- A candidate pipeline built on their interests and eligibility from the start, not discovered at the point of application.
- Candidates who understand the apprenticeship and the employer before they commit. Better informed, more likely to complete.
- In-flight visibility of pipeline performance, diversity and conversion by stage, with enough time to adjust.
- A joined-up programme with one candidate record across attraction, engagement and assessment, so nothing is lost between stages.
